"You can think it? Than you can do it!"

Kai Markus Xiong

Culture Bridge Athlete

My Name is Kai Markus - I’m 45 years old and love running for building up culture bridges, encouraging young people to chase their dreams and breaking down prejudice. I’ve been doing the sport my whole life but in 2017 I ran 12000 km from Hamburg to Shanghai. The run is finished, but running for breaking down prejudices is still going on... Life is beautiful and running is a part of our life!

//// Why did you start running - what was your motivation?

Build a culture bridge between Europe and China and break down prejudice and encourage young people to chase their dreams and support them.

//// Do you remember your first race? How was your feeling when you finished?

My first race was as a child and I competed with kids 2 years older on a 20km distance. I won second place as I'm a person who never gives up. This encouraged me to believe: everything is possible - age is just a number!

//// What is the one run you'll never forget, and why?

My 12000 km Ultra Culture Bridge Marathon from Hamburg to Shanghai as there are so many positive impressions, encouragements and experience for my whole life and all the people follow my story on social media, TV and news.

//// Why are you a 361° ambassador? What motivates you to go beyond expectations?

I´m a brand ambassador because I choose the shoes on my own for runs on all kinds of surfaces like rocks, snow and desert. I love the idea of the quality and I tested it all by myself. It´s not a brand it´s my brand. Beyond is both our spirit!
