"No matter how slow you go, the main thing is to run!"

Frank Stuhlmann

Train driver and Instructor

Hello, I am Frank and born 1971 in Werl / Westphalia. Since many years I live in Lichtenfels / Upper Franconia and work there as a train driver and instructor. In addition to my professional orientation, I have been involved with the volunteer fire department for years. As a result, I came to running in 2016 and have since lost a lot of weight. This is also one of the main reasons that I run - exercise means life!

//// Why did you start running - what was your motivation?

I started running to lose weight. In order to motivate myself, I receive donations for the German Cancer Aid Foundation!

//// Do you remember your first race? How was your feeling when you finished?

My first run in firefighter gear was the Coburger Night Run 2017. I was very nervous and excited because after all it was the first public appearance of the running team "Running against the Cancer" from our region. It is the only run that has not been finished, unfortunately!

//// What is the one run you'll never forget, and why?

The Flechtkulturlauf Obermain 2017 will always be in my memory. Within this run I was able to motivate 26 firefighters to accompany me on the 5.2 km long track. It was an awesome moment to run into goal together with all my comrades!

//// Why are you a 361° ambassador? What motivates you to go beyond expectations?

I think that I personify this principle in person. Every run is a run beyond my own expectations! Therefore, the goal is to complete a 10 km run in 2018.
